Hebrews 3:1 1Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ JesusMy prayer is that we will appertain to every thing that Jesus has provided for us while we are here on earth, bringing heaven to men. We are even told to pray for thy kingdom to come on the earth as it is in heaven.
Saints and Sinners
The third thing is that Bethel is place where sinners are welcome. Do not overlook where Jacob has just come from. For so many of us we would not think that the Lord would reveal himself to this man at this time. How thankful I am that Jesus died for us while we were yet sinners. Have you every taken the time to ponder that kind of people that God used in the bible?
Sinners became saints only because of the blood of Jesus and the forgiveness of God. Moses was a murder, Lot was a drunk, Joseph was abused, Job went bankrupt, Leah was unloved, Rachel was jealous, Tamar was raped, Rahab was a prostitute the women at the well had been divorced more than once. Elijah was depressed and suicidal, Martha was a worrywart; the disciples fell asleep the one time Jesus asked them to pray for him. Zacchaeus was too small Timothy had an ulcer, John Mark did like the mission field, Paul had a problem with anger Naomi was bitter, the list just goes on and on. The name Bethel means house of God, and it should be a place where sinners are welcome, not a place where sin is practiced. Bethel is a place of dreams and visions and a place where heaven is real to your soul. I will continue this in our next edition of the breadbox.
Blessings!
