HOWS YOUR APPETITE?

Jesus started his ministry hungry as we see in the following scripture:

Luke 4:1-2 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted[a] by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

We are told to hunger for righteousness, I love a verse in; Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

He feeds on Gods word, this is a hunger that each of us need daily, we should be hungry for His Word. Most of us eat at least three times a day in the natural, if not more.  Typically, we eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If we skip a meal or two we begin to have a little sensation of emptiness and maybe even a pain of hunger, this is what we would call hunger pains.  I would love it if when I miss my time in Bible reading or prayer that I would have a little pain. Yet for most of we do: it is the nudge from the Holy Spirit we should learn to stop and respond to His nudging just as we must stop and eat.

There was a time when Jesus was ministering to the woman at the well found in John chapter 4 and His disciples had left to go and get some food, when they came back they encouraged Him to eat. Jesus had an unusual answer for them, and it was so strange that they thought someone else had gotten Him some food.

Since we are all sinners, how have we become accepted by God and now considered righteous?  It is all because of what Jesus has done for us as we see in the following verse:

2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
